Repurposed pine work table

This piece of history was located in a "barn sale" near the Lahave River in Nova Scotia. Its story was that it came from Ontario and likely made of pine and spruce.

Check out the 'before' and 'after' photos: it started as a work table/kitchen island but needed to be completely dismantled and re-constructed. The finished product is a work desk for my wife (protected with hand-rubbed wipe-on polyurathane and finished with a natural furniture wax).

Work desk - kitchen island - table

Made completely from reclaimed, locally sourced wood - here is a multi-use piece that would make a wonderful work desk, kitchen island, family table or what-have-you. The bottom 2 pieces are removable if the storage space is not required and the dimensions are as follows: 25 1/2" x 68 1/2" x 30 3/4" high.

SOLD

Desk or Small harvest table

Here is a simple yet charming smaller harvest table or work desk. The 2” thick reclaimed douglas fir planks are old-growth lumber and as the picture shows, there is the original “notch” in the side, likely where the plank fit up against another post or beam. The top is thick, strong and full of character but as you may tell, is showing its age and use.
The top has been stained with a dark walnut colour and is removable from the base (made from reclaimed fir flooring and 4 reclaimed cedar posts!). The dimensions are as follows: 68 ¾” long x 30 ¾” wide x 30 ¼” high.
