Well, I finally got around to building the bar I've been talking about for years. This beautiful piece is built from reclaimed posts and boards taken from a fallen down barn in Yarmouth (can you see the 2 main posts at the opening?).
This bar is incredibly solid, one-piece and very heavy. I have left it in its natural state considering that it could be used outdoors or inside. Depending on where someone wants to use it will determine the best type of protection to use (eg. outdoors = spar varnish, tung oil, deck stain, natural, etc.) (eg. indoors = varathane, danish oil, tung oil, natural, etc.).
