The smaller kitchen island

 

This remarkable kitchen island was made entirely from reclaimed douglas fir. The top pieces were once a 12’ plank located at a marina in Ladner, as were the posts and slats. The base was coloured with a dark walnut stain and the the upper shelf was built to work also as a wine rack. Note the tight rings on the end cuts to demonstrate the ‘old-growth’ of the wood! The approximate dimensions are as follows: 46 ½” x 27 ¾” x 37” high.
